Wolfgang Van Halen’s second album has ‘given him life’

Wolfgang Van Halen says working on a new album gave him the strength to carry on after his father’s death.
Guitar god Eddie Van Halen sadly passed away in October 2020 at the age of 65 after a long battle with cancer, and his son admitted that playing music is what keeps him going.
Speaking to Guitar World magazine, 31-year-old Wolfgang said: “There are many times when I don’t have the energy to do anything, and most of the time it feels like that.
“But you have to find things. which give you life. “For me it’s music and waking up every day thinking about how I’m going to make this second album.
” He added: “It’s stressful but also very exciting and that’s where I put all my thoughts.”
His self-titled debut album on Mammoth WVH, released earlier this year, was critically acclaimed and saw Wolfgang earn his first ever GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Song for his late pop hit “Distance.” Foo Fighters and their song “Waiting on a War” won the award, but Wolfgang was happy to even get a nod alongside some of his favorite artists.
In a post on Twitter, the rocker began: “We came, we saw, but we didn’t conquer and it’s not bad! I was able to spend a wonderful night with the two most important women in my world.
